Yilan

Located in the northeastern part of Taiwan, Yilan is a city where it has attracted many people to travel to since the early ages. Two main indigenous tribes are the early settlers of Yilan, the Kavalan people, and Atayal people. The Kavalan tribe came to Yilan by sea about 1,000 years ago. The Atayal arrived by the river 250 years ago. Which makes Yilan rich in Culture. Yilan is rich in culture and natural scenery. From mountain hiking to enjoying a day in the hot springs, Yilan has it all. Yilan also offers views of the northeastern coast line of Taiwan. With mountains on the three other sides forming unique geography. The county is home to Asia's second-longest highway tunnel, the Hsuehshan Tunnel, which has reduced the driving time between Yilan and Taipei to less than 50 minutes.
